Writer (author-journalist-poet-blogger) Han Vance is a University of Georgia alum (BA in Speech Communication and Communication Studies, 1998 – UGA Presidential Scholar, National Deans’ List, UGA Dean’s List, National Communication Honor Society). Vance specializes in cultural analysis; formats include: memoir, poetry, reviews, articles, interviews, short stories and blogs. Topics include: college football, local and national culture, travel, transportation, music, art and food.
Vance has been professionally published over 30 times, by sources such as: Art Nouveau Magazine, Atlanta INtown Paper, Writer’s Digest, Creative Loafing and The Georgia Playbook Magazine. Big Hairy Blawg was listed with Vance quoted on the importance of UGA football in the August ’10 issue of Atlanta Magazine, and the website was recognized as the #2 “fastest-growing blog” on all of WordPress for 2010.
Vance is the author of the book (California travel memoir) Golden State Genius and the Harriette Austin Poetry Award winning compilation: ATL Fire: New and Select. Vance is the aspiring University of Georgia Bulldogs Poet Laureate.
While attending UGA, Vance was manager of the Set-Up Crew of Tate Student Center.
